Welcome. The Bright Doves of St. Francis is a faith based Ugandan Youth organization established in 2006 and based in Kamwokya – Kampala. We adhere to and are inspired by the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi by virtue of which we belong to and are networked with the Young Franciscans (Youfra) of Uganda. We focus on spiritual, social and economic empowerment and development of the youth in the community. Bright Doves is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) under Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and works through the Youfra network to reinforce cultural values which emphasize freedom, democracy and non violence by propagating peace and helping the young discover and utilize their potential. Objectives The organization is established on the following objectives; Helping the young grow spiritually and assisting them to exist and live in harmony with their environment. Promoting unity among the youth in our community and mobilizing them for community development. Advocating for knowledge, empowerment and respect of Children and Human rights as a whole. Teaching the young to save and promoting a spirit of charity and volunteerism. Creating awareness among the youth about safe sex practices and the prevention of HIV/AIDS. Advocating for civic education and literacy programs for the youth. Developing credit programs to support the minority and disadvantaged (especially youth and women) in our community.
